The Environment

We strive to provide a clean, safe and educational environment for young children and their families. Within our care, children develop skills that promote physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth. We believe in being supportive of our parents and we welcome their positive involvement and presence at all times. We further believe that within our environment, children can thrive and have the opportunity to blossom into responsible and contributing members of our society.

Our Staff

We require on-going training for our staff through state classes, orientation videos, in-house training, and other certified professionals in the education field. All of our staff is trained in First Aid and CPR.

Our Philosophy

Our mission is to offer a perfect balance between the intellectual and physical development, fundamental classes and active recreation; to ensure that all children receive the most careful treatment, the most cheerful company of peers and teachers, and the most essential knowledge and skills along with the ability to use them. Students are taught in a variety of learning and communications styles, within a safe and structured environment.

At Sunshine Daycare, as childcare professionals we keep up to date with the latest trends in the field of child development. We firmly believe that each child is a unique person, and development is dependent on many factors. Therefore our child care programs support the idea that children should have their natural curiosity nurtured through an authentic, integrated, play-based approach. We realize that a curriculum framework that is designed to be universal to all children only leads to optimal development when teachers respect and respond to the learning opportunities of each individual child. Each child is born with individual traits and this is the reason for our strong belief that caregivers cannot have one single strategy for all the children in their care. We try to personalize and tailor our interactions and our programs to fit each child’s needs, keeping in mind their likes and dislikes.

You may be sure that at the Sunshine Preschool your children benefit from interacting with other children and are stimulated with age appropriate toys, outdoor play, educational activities, movement, music, and lots of laughter.

As a rule, young infants dictate their own schedule based on their basic needs. We try to attend to their needs and allow them to keep their own eating and sleeping schedule. With older children, the feeding and sleeping schedule becomes gradually more regulated. Toddlers can learn and adjust to a daily routine, which helps them to feel more confident and secure in knowing what to expect each day.
